The caretaker governor met with community leaders, youths, women and civil society organizations in the county, Radio Miraya reported.

State Information Minister Jacqueline Nyibol said the purpose of the visit was to brief the Community about developments in the country.

Jacqueline Benjamin, speaking on Radio Miraya said, “The governor told the community to prepare themselves for any problems that may occur in the nearest future. We have to enlighten our people. Many people do not know the causes of this conflict.”

“Some individuals come and give false information to the community. Therefore the government must update the community on what is happening, where we are now, and what is the way forward,” she said.

Meanwhile, some humanitarian organizations are reported to have suspended activities in parts of Northern Bahr el Ghazal, including some payams of Aweil Center, owing to insecurity caused by deserted soldiers.
