Governor of Central Equatoria State Emmanuel Adil Anthony said his office is ready to support city authorities in resource mobilization.

Addressing reporters after a meeting between Governor Adil and Flora Gabriel Modi, Juba City Mayor, the governor’s official spokesperson, Derick Derickson said on Wednesday the meeting resolved to strengthen partnership between the state and city leadership.

He said the governor also directed the city council leadership to double their efforts in cleaning the city.

 “The governor directed the leadership of the city council to redouble their efforts in garbage collection as well as the cleanness of Juba to make sure that all the roads leading to and around Juba City are all clean. He also urged resident to adhere to the directive that cleanliness in every part of the city is the responsibility of each and every citizen,” Derickson said.  

For her part, Mayor Flora Gabriel Modi said the council will work closely with firms in cleaning Juba City.

“We are going to open internal roads within Juba City, the governor has outlined our roles as city council. Cleaning the city is not our duty alone but the citizens have to cooperate with us in waste management,” Flora said.
