A government officer was gunned down at Rumbek Centre County main market on Tuesday in Lake State’s capital Rumbek.
Sebit Kuluel was office manger at the state Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, and also former commissioner of Rumbek Centre County.
Rumbek Centre Commissioner Mawet Manuer told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that Kuluel was killed in the evening at around 6:00 p.m., describing the killing as a “revenge attack.”
The county has seen sectional fighting between the Ruop and Kuei clans.
Kuluel hailed from the Ruop section and is suspected to have been killed by members of the Nyang sub-section of the Kuei, according to the county commissioner.
