The salaries of some government employees in Sudan’s West Kordofan State have been frozen over their blatant absenteeism or irregular attendance, a source said.
The source, who preferred anonymity, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the decision was taken by a committee tasked with overseeing salaries of July in the state.
He pointed out that most of those whose salaries have been suspended were absent from their work for more than a month.
The same source pointed out that the committee found that some of the employees were working for more than one institution.
In July last year, a total of 75 civil servants were dismissed after a probe revealed that they used forged documents to secure their positions in West Kordofan State.
