South Sudan government is to deport foreign nationals, employed by a private security company, following accusations that they undermined the security of the state.

Interior Minister Michael Chiangjiek told Radio Tamazuj this afternoon that 18 foreign nationals employed by Insight Security Company in Juba would be deported this evening, saying the foreign employees undermined the security of the country.

“The 18 employees are from different countries. The decision has already been made and they would leave the country this evening,” Chiangjiek said.

The senior government official pointed out that the security company had been asked to form a new management in South Sudan. “We have no problem with the company, our problem is with individuals only,” he explained.

According to reports, the foreign employees ordered to leave South Sudan include Kenyans and British nationals.
