The county hospital at Gok Machar in Aweil North has run shortage of medicines, according to a medical source.
Athiang Athiang Dor, deputy director of a pharmacy in Aweil, admitted that there were no medicines for Gok Machar Hospital since the last consignment to Aweil North County was in July.
He said patients admitted are being asked to buy medicines for malaria and other diseases from the private clinics because they do not have them in the hospital.
But the pharmacist also said a vehicle was recently sent from Gok Machar and loaded with 62 cartons of medicines to be sent back to Gok Machar for supplying the hospital.
