Madhang Majok Meen, Gok State Governor  has suspended the  creation of a new  Payam known as Kubur William in Abiriu County till further notice.

The cause of the suspension is attributed to a complaint raised to his office by the local residents and their representative in the local parliament, Anyijong Manyang Dier.  The content of the letter authored by the legislator was not disclosed to the public.   The context of the letter remains speculative, with many local politicians and community leaders attributed it to rivalry it would cause over the ownership between the two sections expected to be administered through the local administrative unit.

Anyijong Manyang told Radio Tamazuj that the commissioner of Abiriu County in Gok state has created payams alone and gave it to other section within the county who were not staying there without any consultation to the intellectuals as well as elders of the area. He added that he met the State Governor with Speaker of the Assembly and explained the tension in the area to them and this is why the Governor has taken such a decision to suspend the Payam.

John Makuer Magar, a resident in the suspended Payam, thanked the Governor, for taking a bold decision to suspend the Payam until the community of the area reaches an agreement on ownership. The commissioner of Abiriu County in Gok state, Bol Madok Dhuol denied the claims leveled against him that he did not consult the intellectual of the area. Kubur William was a historical area where Late Senior politician, William Deng Nhial, a father to Nhial Deng Nhial, the current Special Adviser to the President, Salva Kiir Mayardit was killed by Sudan government  on 5th May, 1968, when he was returning from Rumbek to his home area Tonj State. And the area renamed with his name as Kubur William after his death. Kubur William was formerly known as Gulmar before it was attributed to late William DengNhial
