The government of Gok and Tonj states are holding a three days peace conference in Tiaptiap County, Gok state.
The conference which started on Thursday this week drew participation of leaders from the communities in the two states sharing direct border with each other.
Daniel Deng Mading, one of those who attended the conference told radiotamazuj that the peace conference commenced on Thursday and run up to Saturday.
The conference is discussing communal issues relating to the security situation of the two states. Notable matters are cattle raiding and road ambushes. The resolutions of the conference will be read out on Saturday and the general public will be updated about the outcome of the conference. The conference is attended by the communities of the two states and funded by the two governments.
Last month, the two governors from Gok and Tonj agreed to hold a peace conference so as to address the security issues of the two states. Tiaptiap County is one of the newly created counties of Gok state located at the North West of the state capital Cueibet. It is located at border with Tonj state
