Police are searching for information on the murder of 4 traders near the Pan Achier market at the Kuajok – Gogrial road last week.
“There is no way a police can deal with criminals without help from members of public. Please provide us with any information that can lead to the arrest of the killers ” said Police Comissioner John Akot Maluth.
Maluth said that police have questioned some suspects and hope to find the culprits soon. One lead is an inmate who escaped from prison in June.
Two other people have been killed, according to the Gogrial state minister Abraham Gum.
Gum urged politicians and local leaders from Apuk and Aguok to stop inflammatory statements that increase tension between to the two communities. He waned that the government will take tough measures if unacceptable activities are seen between the two communities.
“We have heard there are people coming together and we have asked their politicians and elders to talk to them so that they will disperse. If they do not we will be forced to arrest them because we don’t want a problem between the Apuk and Aguok communities ” Gum warned.
Gum repeated his called on both communities to refrain from revenge attacks but instead surrender suspects to the government.
