Gogrial state officials will not work on Fridays, and instead are expected to farm and cultivate land, according to Abraham Gum Makuac, governor of Gogrial state.
“Rains have started and we have decided that in order to encourage people go to farms and cultivate and to combat hunger and laziness, all of us must go to farm and start digging”, Gum said. “The resolution is clear. It is encouraging employees (to work hard) and a warning to those lazy officials to be prepared. They have been tolerated for a long time,”
Gum said that anybody found not working during farming hours would be made to go work on the government projects like prison services food production projects. In addition, civil servants not found on their farms who have taken days off will not be paid.
