Gogrial governor says security situation is stable

The Governor of South Sudan’s Gogrial State, Gregory Deng Kuac, said the security situation is generally stable except some minor incidents that happen occasionally in the state.

The Governor of South Sudan’s Gogrial State, Gregory Deng Kuac, said the security situation is generally stable except some minor incidents that happen occasionally in the state.

Last week, a local youth leader accused Governor Gregory of failing to find an amicable solution to the ongoing feud between the Apuk and Aguok clans.

He also said the community of Gogrial State appealed to President Kiir to remove the governor from his position.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, Governor Gregory denied the allegations that he failed to bring about peace among the local community in the state.

“I heard one of the citizens from Gogrial criticizing the administration of the state. That’s his own personal opinion. We have freedom of speech because we are a democratic society,” he said.
