Gogrial governor reappoints former security adviser

The governor of South Sudan’s Gogrial state has issued a decision reappointing Akot Lual Akot as state security adviser after dismissing him from the same position last month without any clear reason.

The governor of South Sudan’s Gogrial state has issued a decision reappointing Akot Lual Akot as state security adviser after dismissing him from the same position last month without any clear reason.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, the minister of information in the state, Ariech Mayar Ariech confirmed the reappointment of the former security adviser.

 "It is true, the former adviser has been reappointed and he has assumed his duties. As state minister, I welcome the decision of the governor,” said Ariech.

The security advisor would serve as the chief adviser to the governor on national security issues.  He would also be participating in meetings of the national security committee and other deliberations on security matters in the state.
