The governor of South Sudan’s Gogrial state has removed his security adviser and appointed a new official to replace him after sacking deputy governor last week.
Governor Victor Atem Atem, according to the order which became public on Sunday, removed Anyuon Chan from his position as security adviser and replaced him with Adhil Mabuoc.
State officials attributed the cause to a pressure from the local community expressing dissatisfaction with the performance of the former security adviser.
His successor was the commissioner of Apuk West County.
