Gogrial government says mobilisation for youth leadership in Juba ‘illegal’

Authorities in Gogrial State have issued a statement questioning the legality of the ongoing mobilisation for youth leadership in Juba, saying such initiatives should be organised at the state level first.

Authorities in Gogrial State have issued a statement questioning the legality of the ongoing mobilisation for youth leadership in Juba, saying such initiatives should be organised at the state level first.

“The government of Gogrial state hereby notifies members of the public, and particularly the people of Gogrial state who are residing in Juba that the ongoing mobilisation for the formation of youth union in the name of Gogrial State in Juba is illegal and has no recognition from the state government,” Partly reads the statement seen by Radio Tamazuj.

The statement dated April 6, described the efforts as a ploy by individuals with ulterior motives to promote own interest and their activities should therefore be disregarded by the citizens.

It argued that the youth organization in the state should start at the state level before establishment of any wings in other locations around the country.

“Therefore, the state government will not allow the formation of such groups whose existence threatens unity and stability of the people of Gogrial state,” adds the statement.
