Gogrial clinic experiences shortage of nurses

A medical director for Aguok South County in the proposed Gogrial state Awar Majok Deng says there has been a shortage of nurses at Gogrial primary Health Care Centres – PHCC after Doctors Without Borders (MSF ) has handed over a facility to the government earlier this year.

According to Awar, five staffs at the centre are unable to attend to over 500 patients who visit the facility each day.

“After MSF has handed over this facility, the issue of staffs remains a major challenge because many staffs have left to a new medical institute that was open recently leaving no nurses at ICD department and emergency room,” explained Awar.

Gogrial PHCC is one of five health facilities recently upgraded to hospitals by the national minister of health Dr. Riek GAI Kok during his recent tour to states of the Bahr el Ghazal region.
