Atong Manyuat Lual, Speaker of the Gogrial Legislative Assembly said that the state parliament does not have enough funds to facilitate its own operation, making it difficult to carry out its activities effectively.
Speaking during an extraordinary sitting last week, Atong said that the assembly is unable to execute its duties due to lack of vehicles and a hall for sittings. She pointed out that the lawmakers are currently working in prefabs donated by the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) several years ago.
The speaker appealed to the newly appointed state governor Gen. Gregory Deng Kuach and his entire cabinet to support the assembly.
