A girl of 11 years was raped in Heiban County last Friday afternoon in the bush as she had gone to a mango garden with her colleagues.
Local police said that the girl had gone in the morning to gather mangoes in the garden with her younger colleagues who were five in number
When in the garden a boy of 18 years old approached and threatened them, telling them he would take them to the police station claiming they have entered his garden.
Then he took them to a different direction, and reaching the bush he ordered at knife point the others to leave then he started to rape the girl.
However, people who were working in the farms heard screaming from the bush and they rescued her and took her to a clinic. The suspected perpetrator was arrested.
Another rape case was reported in the area last December involving a woman who was on her way to visit her husband. The case is still ongoing.
