A committee of tribal leader is preparing for a final reconciliation meeting next week in Sudan’s South Kordofan state between the Ghulfan and Dar El Naila Arab tribes, according to Dar El Naila leader Sadiq Hamid.

The committee comprises emirs and native administration leaders of the Ghulfan and Dar El Naila tribes.

Local authorities have been pressuring the two tribes in Dilling and Habila localities to respect a recently signed truce, after a deadly dispute over a grazing site resulted in the killing of dozens.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, the omda Sadiq Hamid affirmed the ‘historic ties’ between the Ghulfan and Dar El Naila in the area.

He blamed the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North of instigating the recent conflict between the two tribes. He said they will reach a final settlement to their differences in the coming days, so that they can return to their normal relations.
