South Sudanese rebel leader General Peter Gatdet Yak met with Ambassador Ismail Wais, IGAD Special Envoy for South Sudan in Addis Ababa where thy exchanged views on issues related to the peace process.

Col. Gatkuoth Mut Turoah, Gatdet’s press secretary, said in a statement that the leader of South Sudan United Movement Peter Gatdet discussed issues pertaining to the revitalization process of the 2015 peace accord with Ambassador Ismail Wais on Monday evening.

He pointed out that General Gatdet reiterated his rebel movement’s commitment to peace and stability in the country. “South Sudan United Movement is more than ready to find solutions to the crisis,” Mut said.

According to the rebel official, IGAD Special Envoy Ismail Wais expressed his commitment to bring about peace to war torn-South Sudan.
