Real-SPLM leader Gen. Pa’gan Amum Okiech has been named the Chairperson and Commander-in-Chief of the United People’s Alliance (UPA) United Forces.
Last Friday, the South Sudan Opposition Movements Alliance (SSOMA) and the other opposition groups participating in the Kenyan government-mediated Tumaini Initiative peace talks in Nairobi formed a coalition named the United People’s Alliance which brought their forces under one command.
A press release seen by Radio Tamazuj titled ‘Interim National Leadership Committee (INLC)’ said that the leaders of the outfits in the alliance met and chose interim leaders.
“Pursuant to the Resolutions of the 2nd meeting of the Leadership of the founding constituent organizations of United People’s Alliance (UPA), the members of UPA Interim National Leadership Committee (INLC) are as follows:
1. Gen. Pa’gan Amum Okiech, Chairperson
2. Gen. Paul Malong Awan, First Deputy Chairperson
3. Gen. Mario Loku Thomas, Second Deputy Chairperson 4. Gen. Stephen Buay Rolnyang, Chief of General Staff of Unified Forces
5. Hon. Lual Dau Marach, Secretary-General
6. Dr. Matur Gorjok Gak, Member
7. Gen. Henry Oyai Nyago, Member
