Residents of Gaissan Locality in the Sudanese Blue Nile State are complaining about increased insecurity in the area which they say is caused by the absence of the area administrative leaders.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the residents who preferred anonymity said the area’s commissioner and other officials left the area and are now stationed in Damazeen.
They accused miners and traders in the city of occupying government buildings including schools for accommodation purposes increasing insecurity.
The citizens called on their government authorities to return to the area and improve the security situation.
