Daily newspapers have not appeared on the streets of South Sudan’s capital Juba today morning due to acute shortages of fuel in the city, several journalists and vendors said.

“There is no any newspaper today. This is due to the fuel shortage at the printing machine, they had no fuel to print the newspapers last night,” one of newspaper journalists said.

Vendors of daily newspapers expressed their discontent about the acute shortage of fuel in Juba city” I tell you if there is no fuel, no business and when there is no business, people don’t get money, that’s a big problem for us,” one of vendors said.

Reportedly, some local radio stations in Juba have also gone off air due to the shortage of fuel at the market to run their programs.

The shortage of fuel has also disrupted public transport forcing commuters in Gudele, Munuki, Miya Saba, Kator, and Jebel neighborhoods to walk in order to carry out their daily routine. People were seen queuing for long hours at petrol station in the city.
