The state of East Darfur is suffering from lack of fuel and high prices, causing increases in the costs of public transport.
As in other parts of greater Darfur, the capital al-Daien is witnessing an unprecedented fuel crisis which led to a doubling of prices for local transportation within the city from 1 pound to 2 pounds.
Sources in the capital of East Darfur state told Radio Tamazuj that crisis extends beyond the city to other parts of the state, with fuel completely absent in some towns.
They said the price per gallon of gasoline in the black market rose to 60 pounds and a barrel to 2200 pounds, while a gallon of diesel rose to 20 pounds and a barrel to 1100 pounds.
