The management of Yei Electric Cooperative (YECO) has said the lack of sufficient fuel supply is affecting the regular supply of electricity in Yei town.
Several electricity consumers in Yei town told Radio Tamazuj that the inconsistent supply of electricity during and after the Christmas celebration is affecting business operations in the town.
Jogo Kennedy, YECO’s chairman, told Radio Tamazuj today that the lack of fuel and timely payments by consumers affected the regular operations of the utility company.
“The biggest challenge at YECO is not related to its generators but the problem is fuel to run the generators. Another challenge is that we have few clients who pay their bills and that is what is affecting electricity supply and management of YECO,” Jogo said.
Jogo called on the public to cooperate and pay their bills to the management of YECO to enable an efficient supply of electricity in Yei town.
“We plan to see that the power runs 24 hours a day but we have few people paying bills and also there are people within the residential areas using the electricity without paying their bills and we all know that electricity is very important for us, please come forward and pay your bills so that we sustain constant electricity supply,” Jogo pleaded.
