Aweil state legislative assembly’s speaker Hon. Daniel Deng Ayom Ayom has said that lack of funds may delay the reopening of state parliament for two weeks.

Aweil legislators break for three months recess on 6 June and are expected to resume their normal business on Tuesday next but because there is no money to buy fuel, the legislators are given another two more weeks till 20 September 2016.

“Because there is no money to buy fuel and other office operations I have decided to push the reopening of assembly for two weeks. So the honourable members and other officials will be notified once we have funds,” said Deng Ayom in an interview to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday.

Previously, the legislator revealed that the assembly’s normal activities have been paralyzed due lack of operation funds since the controversial creation of 28 states.
