Public transport drivers in Babanusa town of Sudan’s West Kordofan State on Sunday organized a peaceful march protesting the lack of fuel in the town.

One of the drivers speaking on condition of anonymity told Radio Tamazuj that they demanded audience with Babanusa commissioner Adam Egedat after security agents blocked them from fuelling their vehicles, despite the availability of fuel in stations.

He added that the security agents have been rationing fuel forcing some drivers to spend two days at the fuel stations for only a gallon of petrol.

Another driver said that the security is worsening the already bad situation by demanding that all drivers must have drivers’ licences to get a gallon and half of petrol.
