Four shot dead at South Kordofan market

Sudanese soldiers killed four people from the Nuba Mountains at Al Dukbr market in South Kordofan on Monday afternoon. Witnesses said around 20 Sudanese soldiers targeted the shoppers, opening fire and killing four of them. They also stole three of their cars. They said Nuba people regularly travel to shop at El Dukbr market. Eyewitnesses said the attack was deliberately aimed at Nuba shoppers, causing people to flee the market and leaving it deserted. They said the bodies of the deceased remain at the scene. One eyewitness said the four victims were alive, but then shot as they were struggling on the ground. They said the four citizens were known to people in the area as people that regularly frequent the market, adding there was no suggestion that they were armed.
