At least four people were killed and several others injured in violent cattle raids in Bul West County of Northern Liech State on Monday evening, a local official said.
Bul West County Commissioner Michael Kuer Mut told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that four people were killed in clashes between cattle raiders and soldiers near Mayenjur area.
Commissioner Mut said government soldiers managed to recover about 3,000 heads of cattle from the attackers.
The commissioner accused a group of youth from Tonj State of involvement in the incident.
Government officials in Tonj could immediately be reached for comment.
