At least four people were killed and two others wounded in a cattle raid in Abiriu County in South Sudan’s Gok State over the weekend, a local official said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Commissioner of Abiriu County Bol Madok Dhuol said gunmen from Rumbek in Western Lakes State attacked a cattle camp Sunday afternoon and raided over 500 cattle.

He pointed out that the incident resulted in the killing of at least four people and wounding of two others in the area.

The commissioner noted that the wounded people were taken to Abiriu Heath Department for treatment. Bol added that he informed the State Governor Madhang Majok Meen to contact his counterpart Abraham Makoi Bol on the matter.

Bol urged families of the victims to be patient and leave the issue to the state government to handle it.
