Four people traveling in a vehicle in Unity State’s Mayom County were killed in an explosion on Monday, the Citizen Newspaper reported.

SPLA Colonel Philip Aguer on Tuesday said that four people were killed in an SPLA Logistics vehicle traveling between Tour Abiech and Kilo 30, including one officer and three civilians, while four others were wounded.

The army spokesman claimed that the blast was the result of a landmine planted by forces of rebel General Peter Gatdet. However, it has not yet been independently confirmed whether the explosion was the result of a landmine, unexploded ordinance or other cause.
