Four farmers freed after LRA kidnapping in South Sudan's Raja

Army forces in Raja county of South Sudan’s Western Bahr el Ghazal state rescued four farmers who were kidnapped by the Lord's Resistance Army, a local official said.

Musa Shayieb told Radio Tamazuj that the four famers were working in their fields in Boro Madina area when a group of six LRA fighters abducted them and forced them to carry maize on their backs.

After the rescue operation, the LRA soldiers fled north toward the border between Sudan and Central African Republic, Musa said.
