Four people have been killed after a Toyota Noah collided with a fuel truck along the Juba-Nimule road, traffic police said.
The crash occurred at about 3pm on Friday at Loa area.
The traffic police said the Toyota Noah minivan was ferrying passengers from the capital Juba to Uganda while the fuel truck was heading to Juba.
Lillian Apio Ohide, a traffic police officer in Nimule, confirmed the incident to Radio Tamazuj saying four people had been killed in the road accident.
“Four passengers who were traveling in the Toyota Noah vehicle died on the spot,” she said.
Lillian added that a female passenger with injuries was rushed to the hospital in the town of Nimule for treatment.
The traffic police officer noted that the truck driver escaped immediately after the deadly accident.
In October, five people died and three others sustained injuries when a truck collided with a Toyota Noah minivan along the same road.
The highway is a lifeline for South Sudan, which imports almost everything from neighboring countries.
