Four die, five injured in attack on vehicle in South Darfur

An ‘armed group’ assault on a passenger vehicle in Bielel locality in South Darfur, has left two policemen and two civilians dead, and five more people injured.

One of the passengers told Radio Tamazuj that the vehicle was on its way to Nyala on Tuesday when “it was intercepted by four armed men, who opened fire”.

The two policemen died during an exchange of fire. The dead and injured were taken to Nyala hospital.

The witness said that a large group “related to the dead” carried the bodies to the house of the State Governor to complain about the repeated murders in the area, as well as the slow pace of autopsies at Nyala Teaching Hospital.
