Four children who were abducted from Marial Achack in Abyei last month have been released by their abductors and now are en route back to their home area, according to a source in West Kordofan of Sudan.

Misseriya leader Ambadi Kabashi told Radio Tamazuj today that Misseriya native administration mediated between the UN peacekeeping force in Abyei (UNISFA) and the abductors to secure their release.

The children have boarded an aircraft from Diffra to Abyei accompanied by UNISFA personnel and a worker for an internatinoal non-governmental organization, he said.

Kabashi named Emir Hamad Dud as the Misseriya leader who mediated between UNISFA and the abductors.

Simultaneously, UNISFA has reportedly released 11 Misseriya whom they had detained after the Marial Achack attack. He said those gunmen had been part of the same group that had abducted the chidlren.
