Former detainees receive invitation to attend peace talks

The Former Political Detainees (FDs), who also describe themselves as SPLM leaders, said they have received an invitation to attuned in the peace talks in Addis Ababa.

Kosti Manibe, spokesman of the former detainees’ group, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that that they have officially received an invitation letter from the East African regional bloc to attend the talk on 3 May.

Manibe further said his group will negotiate as part of the opposition alliance which is made up of about nine groups.

Last week, IGAD postponed the talks that were scheduled to begin on 26 April to a later date to be communicated in due course.
