An Ethiopian national was killed in an attack carried out by unknown gunmen along the Magwi-Nimule road in South Sudan’s Imatong State on Thursday morning.

Several eyewitnesses told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that a lorry carrying passengers on its way to Juba was attacked by unidentified gunmen. They pointed out that the incident resulted in the killing of an Ethiopian citizen.

“The incident took place around 9:00 am, it was a lorry, it was attack on the road near Magwi, so an Ethiopian man was shot and killed,” said one of eyewitnesses.

Radio Tamazuj couldn’t reach local authorities in the area to comment on the matter.
