Food security in Pochalla County in South Sudan’s Boma state improved slightly after the WFP launched a food airdrop operation last month, a local official said.

Pochalla County Commissioner Jay Adingora Alual told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that those who fled to neighboring Ethiopia were returning homes. “Food situation has improved and communities are expecting another food airdrop,” he said.

He urged the World Food Programme (WFP) to continue helping the needy people so that they are not affected by hunger.

Alual claimed that the security situation has been stable for the last two months.
