19,000 internally displaced person who returned to Twic East County are receiving food distributions at Panyagoor town.

Dau Akoi Jurkuch told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the distributions will take one week.

"We have received 19,000 IDPs that have returned from Lakes State and some IDPs from Duk County that make up 30,000 which are now receiving food items," he said.

Akoi said the food items supplied include cooking oil, lentils, and sorghum.

The commissioner said the security situation is stable. "In the state of Jonglei we are doing fine and in terms of insecurity we are going well. There were no reports of cattle raiding coming to us from outside the county."
