Conflict-displaced people at Rome Camp in Akoka County in Upper Nile State face shortages of food, a camp leader said Thursday.

James Mansour Dau told Radio Tamazuj that the estimated 11,000 displaced people have not received food rations for a month. He warned of humanitarian disaster if food rations are not distributed to the needy people as soon as possible.

He called upon the international NGOs and relevant authorities to assist the conflict-displaced people.

In September, the camp leader also said a large number of IDPs raised a complaint to the authorities concerned about the delayed food rations after only about 3,000 IDPs received food rations.
