Floods affect farms in Pochalla County

Farmers in South Sudan’s Boma State might not have good harvest this year due to heavy floods that have affected various areas in Pochalla County of Boma State, a government official has said.

Jay Adingora Alual, Commissioner of Pochalla County, told Radio Tamazuj on Monday evening that floods have affected the whole of south Pochalla town.

He said that River Akobo in Awietabala area and River Oboth have burst their banks causing floods in in Awietabala, in Okadi, and in areas south of Pochalla County as well as Ajwara.

The official further said if the rains continue, floods could badly affect the harvest season in greater Pochalla.
