Local youth in the Pany Nyok County of Twic State are repairing parts of the road that was washed away in recent rains so sick people have access to health facilities in Mayen Abun and Turalei.
“I personally appreciate one of you who has decided to come out and participated in this work. It is not good we shall continue rely on aid agencies, said Barac Atem Barac, County Executive Director. “The urgent help we need now from well wishers is the provision of working tools like hoes, rakes and spades because this is the help we need right now.”
In some parts of South Sudan, this year’s rainy season did not come. But in others, the rains were too much, destroying many crops.
“Because of the poor infrastructure in our area we have decided to join our hands together to repair this road because this is the supply route,” said one local trader who participated on the road repaired.
Officials from the ministry of Physical Infrastructure for Twic state were unavailable for comment.
