Many administrative units in Tonj North County in Warrap state of South Sudan were reportedly stricken by heavy rains that hit the county recently.

Marko Haj, the Tonj North County commissioner confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that the citizens are suffering from the flood in the County as a whole. Marko revealed that the state authorities have toured some flood-affected administrative units in order to assess the damage.

“Many houses have collapsed, now the health condition is worsening there is outbreak of diseases among the children and women” the commissioner said.

The county official explained that many organizations have paid a visit to the stricken areas but did not provide any assistance.
