Five SPLA soldiers have been arrested in connection to the killings of two people in South Sudan’s Wau State on Thursday.
Wau Town Mayor, Hassan Ngor, told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that the two a man and a woman identified as Makur Mayor and Nyanbol respectively were shot dead by an SPLA soldier in Nazareth Market in Wau on Thursday evening.
"The culprit opened fire on Mayor, who works at a charging mobile phone shop and Nyanbol, who is a tea vendor in the Nazareth market,"Ngor said.
He said the suspect and others believed to be involved in the crime are in police custody.
“The suspects are believed to be from the division five of the SPLA in Wau,” he said.
