Five people wounded after shooting at house party in Mewun Payam, Boma State

At least five people were seriously wounded after a young boy picked up a firearm and accidentally opened fire at people during a house party in Mewun Payam in Boma State on Saturday, a local official said.

John Dunyi, an MP representing Mewun Payam in the state parliament, said at least five people were accidently wounded when a young boy opened fire at people during a dance party in one of the houses in the area.

The official pointed out that the wounded were flown to Juba by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for treatment.

Mewun payam, which is located about 37 kilometers way from Pibor area, has no roads leading to its neighboring areas.
