At least five miners were rescued after a gold mine they were working in collapsed and trapped them underground in Al-Liri Locality in Sudan’s South Kordofan State on Friday.

Multiple sources told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the miners were trapped underground for more than 16 hours before being rescued by fellow gold producers.

The same sources said that the trapped miners suffered from lack of oxygen while in the gold mine but they survived by using a watering pipe for breathing.
