'Five killed' in rebels-army clash in South Kordofan

Five people were killed, several were displaced, and properties were destroyed during clashes between the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) and the Sudanese army in Kartalla, South Kordofan.

Local citizens told Radio Tamazuj the aircrafts of the Sudan Air Force have been “continuously hovering the area and bombing citizens since the clashes” took place on Tuesday.

JEM spokesman Jibril Bilal accuses the army of “targeting innocent civilians, damaging their farms and killing their cattle.”

Citizens condemned the destruction of their properties the deteriorating security situation "after the JEM attack in Kartalla".
