Five killed by raiders in Jalle Payam, Jonglei

Five people have been killed and others wounded followed an attack by an unknown armed group in Jalle Payam in Bor County on Sunday night.

Five people have been killed and others wounded followed an attack by an unknown armed group in Jalle Payam in Bor County on Sunday night.

Homes were burnt down and villagers were forced to flee, according to one eyewitness. He claimed that hundreds of armed men launched a three winged attack on the area and raided 3000 cows and abducted some children.

In another incident, five people were injured in inter-clan fighting in Ayenic in Awerial County last Thursday. This prompted three arrests. Only one of the injured is still hospitalized.   

Patich Dhal Patich, the crime officer for Awerial County said, “There has been fight between Rorapuk and Kochmaboor, on 29th the youth from both sides went for wrestling matching in the cattle camp called Ayenic. We are now investigating the cause of their fight.”
