Five abducted Fallata tribesmen were released in Sudan’s South Darfur state, a traditional leader said yesterday.
Yusuf El Samani, deputy nazir of the Fallata tribe, told Radio Tamazuj Wednesday that the five men were kidnapped by members of the Beni Halba tribe in their village.
He said abductees were accused by Beni Halba tribe of stealing cattle and that their release was coordinated between the governor and the native administration.
“Those who committed such a crime are thieves. So in an attempt to avoid further escalation between the two tribes a joint committee has been formed to resolve the pending issues between the two sides,” he said.
