Five detained opposition leaders transferred to Port Sudan prison

About five Sudanese opposition leaders detained by security officials last week have been moved to Port Sudan prison, according to Sudanese media.

Reportedly, Omar al-Digair, leader of the opposition Sudanese Congress Party (SCP) was among the political detainees transferred to Red Sea.

Sudan’s National Security and Intelligence service (NISS) had arrested many opposition leaders following protests against the government decision to raise fuel and electricity price.
