Five children killed by warplane in Sudan

Five children were killed and two injured when a Sudanese warplane bombed a crowded market in and nearby home in Heiban on Thursday morning, Nuba Reports says in its latest dispatch from South Kordofan State.

Five children were killed and two injured when a Sudanese warplane bombed a crowded market in and nearby home in Heiban on Thursday morning, Nuba Reports says in its latest dispatch from South Kordofan State.

According to Nuba Reports, the children were killed as they were running for the safety of foxholes, which are commonplace in the Nuba Mountains after years of bombings.

Twenty-five year old Issa Majar was also killed while running for cover. Ten year old Nawadir Jafar and five year old Nawa Jafar were injured, they were taken to Gidel hospital for treatment.

The warplane dropped three bombs on the market and another about 200 feet away. The fifth bomb hit a house about 50 meters away from the square.

Sixteen year old Sria Jali, 14 year old Yaya Jafar, ten year old Aziza Jafa, seven year old Anur Jafar and six year old Kuku James died in the attack.
